人们最早认识Daniel Powter就是从这首“Bad Day”开始的，去年这首歌被可口可乐选为广告宣传曲，之后Daniel Powter的星途就开始大放光芒，一连攀上多个排行榜，在欧洲大行其道，成了各大电台热播的单曲。不过Daniel Powter真正引起世人关注还是在2005年7月2日德国柏林LIVE8演唱会上，在那场打着拯救贫穷旗号的豪门盛宴上，Daniel Powter第一次在全世界面前自弹自唱，那一天再次成了Daniel的“Best Day”，随后就有了这张同名专辑。
　　听完整张专辑忍不住要把Daniel Powter和James Blunt做个对比。两人的嗓音都非常独特，而且都属于直抒胸臆的创作型歌手，在有些唱法上非常地相似，第一次听“Free Loop”，唱到“But I don't know enough......”时，我心说：我KAO，这不就是James Blunt么！不过James Blunt的歌曲朴素、直接，几乎不做任何修饰，Daniel Powter则华丽得多，甚至肆意玩弄技巧，比如“Suspect”、“Lie to me”里四处游移的假音；James Blunt的歌很有点悲天悯人的气度，Daniel Powter则有点狡黠、玩世不恭，不过这应该是个错觉，从BBC的采访和“Bad Day”中可以看出Daniel Powter其实是个既内向羞涩又积极乐观的人；就象James Blunt的歌里总少不了吉他一样，Daniel Powter则离不开钢琴，这也是他的作品听起来更多变的原因之一；Daniel Powter还有一点让我很喜欢，就是他的歌前戏都很短，一带而过就直奔主题，“Lost on the stoop”干脆就是一上来就开唱。
　　丹尼尔(Daniel Powter)这位总是带着毛帽，有着精湛的琴艺，外型有着浓浓都会时尚感的歌手，他以充满灵骚味的假音，在2006上半年将在美国乐坛发光发热。丹尼尔细腻独特的感受力及出色的琴艺，让他总是能够在平淡无奇的生活中，找到音乐创作的题材，因此有着“城市琴人丹尼尔”的称号。城市琴人丹尼尔(Daniel Powter)专辑在去年率先在美国地区之外发行，随即在欧洲各国就掀起一阵《Bad Day疯》，在法国更是蝉连好几周的冠军，2005年的夏季单曲在英国金榜上蝉联了3周亚军，而当时强势压顶的冠军，就是同门师兄上尉诗人詹姆仕布朗特，蝉连5周单曲榜冠军的《You are beautiful/美丽的你》。随着歌曲的窜红，《坏天气/Bad Day》一曲被可口可乐用作为欧洲广告片的主题曲。
